Speed & School Zones
Toronto has hundreds of school zones — 40 km/h when children are present. Watch for school zone signs near the test centre.
Residential streets: 40 km/h. Major roads: 50–60 km/h. Expressways (G test): 100 km/h.
Examiner Expectations
Examiners watch for consistent mirror checks (every 5–8 seconds), smooth braking, full stops, and proper shoulder checks on every lane change.
Highway (G test): G test requires confident merging onto 400-series highways (401, 400, DVP). Practice accelerating to 100 km/h before merging.
